History
Grupo Britt was born in Costa Rica in 1985, with the founding of one of its companies: Café Britt, as the first gourmet coffee toaster in the country. Before Café Britt, it was almost impossible to find a good cup of coffee in Costa Rica, even though some of the world's best coffee beans were harvested in the country, because there was a law that determined that the best coffee beans must be exported, thus leaving a lower quality coffee to be consumed by Costa Ricans.
Café Britt, then sees the opportunity to lead a great change in the Costa Rican coffee industry by reserving and toasting some of the best coffee beans in the country. From the beginning, it had the best ingredients for success: access to real quality gourmet grains from the best plantations in the country, the best processing benefits, expert roasters and an obsession with quality that is complemented by the desire to create a responsible, environment loving and committed to the community coffee company. The results of these efforts have been remarkable. Café Britt continues to grow and has brought the best coffee in Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru to millions of people around the world, while collaborating with communities development and the protection of the invaluable environment.

In 2001, Café Britt created its first store in the Juan Santamaría International Airport of Costa Rica, joined the souvenir business by including a space dedicated to souvenir items such as cups and plates, among others, in each of its stores. The opening of this store starts with what is now its second company, Morpho Travel Retail, specialized in travel retail stores, now in the airports of 11 countries.
This store was created to cater to tourists who wanted to buy the best gourmet coffee in Costa Rica, and little by little it grew and evolved to the development its "Sense of Place" concept. Morpho Travel Retail adopted sense of place as a unique concept that seeks taking A customer's shopping experience to the next level, where through the design and architecture of the store, tourists are allowed to re-live the culture, flavors, architecture and colors of the country that they just visited. Nowadays, each country has its own product line tailored to its culture and traditions.

Today, the company has around 1800+ employees.
